Restorative Dentistry in Agoura Hills, CA

After moving to Augora Hills my daughter needed to find a closer dentist. At her consultation, they said she needed 4 or 5 root canals and all her wisdom teeth extracted, totaling $21,000 out of pocket. She left in tears and called us in a panic.We decided to send her back to our long standing dentist 2.5 hours away in Mission Viejo, to get a second opinion. He said that was WAY too aggressive and unnecessary. She needed some work for sure, but only a few fillings and such. So glad we got a second opinion. She may need a root canal at some point later on, but something just felt way off with this assessment.I can understand a slight difference in professional opinion between dentists, but this was a HUGE discrepancy between treatment plans and more dentists these days seem to be "root canal happy". It's hard to know who to trust so I'm writing this review as a caution. Always get a second opinion if presented with an aggressive treatment plan.

For years, I’ve been afraid of going to the dentist as anything beyond a cleaning has always been an issue for years. .Many times I couldn’t get through trying to even get a filling.Smile Spa has state of the art instruments and the ability to put me under a twilight so that when I wake up my teeth are done and the idea of having to come back for everything one appointment at a time has been alleviated.I can’t tell you what a relief it has been to know that my teeth are taken care of.Aside from the fact that Dr. Joal and her husband are extremely knowledgeable and such amazing Dentists, they are kind and gentle and truly concerned .And further, their staff is amazing.From the office to everyone.It is a friendly environment, The office is exceptionally clean and beautiful.I brought my son so that he may continue to use them as his Dentist as well.

I want to preface this review by saying I am not someone who writes these lightly. I’ve had extensive dental work done throughout my life from crowns, a full implant, previous orthodontic work. I’ve sat through procedures that were genuinely traumatic, including feeling every stitch during my implant recovery. I know what bad dental experiences feel like, and I’ve had plenty of them at practices across Southern California. Which is exactly why I need everyone to know about Dr. Joelle and Dr. Shawn.What sets this practice apart isn’t just skill it’s that they genuinely love what they do. They’ve invested in exceptional technology, they communicate every step of the process clearly, and they treat you like a person, not a patient number. Their staff carries the same energy: warm, responsive, and attentive every single visit. On top of that, they’ve clearly thought about every aspect of your experience, including your time. My wisdom teeth recovery was quick enough that it barely disrupted my life, and my entire Invisalign treatment has been trackable virtually, removing the need for monthly maintenance appointments, just real progress I could follow from my phone.My migraines have significantly reduced. Correcting my bite has touched every part of my daily life from the way I eat to the way I sleep to my facial structure. I didn’t know how much I was compensating until I didn’t have to anymore. And for the first time in my life, I actually trust my dental team.

I LOVE going to the Smile Spa!! Every time I go, I feel so welcome from the moment I walk in the door and through my entire visit! The check-in process was easy and seamless. The first time I was treated there I filled out a form where they asked about my history, which I so appreciated - it's clear they want to make sure to get to know you (and your oral health) well so they can provide great treatment! Their assistant was very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. Taking X-rays was so easy and quick! Dr. Joelle explained everything she saw and what her recommendations were. When I returned to get my cavities filled, she made sure I was comfortable during the entire treatment! She even followed up with me afterwards to make sure I was feeling okay. I did not feel any pain during the visit at all, and afterwards felt good as new! Dr. Joelle, Dr. Shawn, and the entire staff make it an amazing dental experience every time I'm here! They really treated me like family! Highly recommend!!

The Smile Spa is by far the most beautiful, clean, and professional office I've ever been to. Everyone there is extremely friendly, compassionate, and proficient at their jobs. The atmosphere and the kind staff at this office really helped ease any anxiety that I did have coming in to get dental work done. I had to get x-rays, an exam, 4 fillings, and a cleaning. It was a lot of work, and I've never had fillings done before. Dr. Shawn, Dr. Joelle, and the rest of the staff at The Smile Spa helped make the entire process really seamless and as comfortable as possible. I was afraid of the numbing injections, but Dr. Shawn was so gentle that the shots were practically painless. I was beyond surprised, because I've had really painful injections done at other offices in the past (I'm sure many of us have). We also discussed Invisalign treatment, and I was able to get Botox injected into the masseter muscle to help with teeth clenching. Everything was done right there at The Smile Spa! No need to hop around to different offices. I normally can barely drag myself into a dental office, let alone going to two additional places to get Invisalign and Botox. The Smile Spa makes it so easy to get everything done that you need done. If it's related to dental health, they do it all right there! I wouldn't go anywhere else, and I'm so thankful I found them. It's really a unique experience. I'm looking forward to coming back to get my Invisalign trays!

From the moment you set foot in The Smile Spa a sense of comfort greets you. The smiles from the reception desk set the pace. Then, as they expediently address your appointment needs, you are met by a wonderful Dentist. I went in for a root canal. The experience was painless! As the Novocaine wore off I was bracing for expected pain. IT NEVER CAME! I couldn’t believe it! All I can figure is that the dentist was so precise in his work that he didn’t disturb any surrounding nerves during the visit, which would have cause after pain. So wether your interest in seeing a dentist is for a root canal or any other dental issue, I strongly recommend The Smile Spa! You won’t regret it. Toby

The Smile Spa, with its state of the art CT machine, imagery techniques, crown and cap matching labs, ensures perfect outcomes. But above and beyond these amenities, is the gentle touch of Dr. Joelle and Dr. Sean ( a marriage of dentists) and their lovely assistants who are completely there for you in an un-rushed, clean state of the art office . I have had cleanings and dental work -which has far exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend!

I was visiting from out of town when I suddenly had a dental emergency. I couldnt be more grateful to have found the smile spa. I was in such immense pain and dr joelle and dr shawn saved the day. They saw me the same day and I got two crowns done.They were efficient, kind and made the process so seamless. I could not recommend coming here enough. Not only were the doctors great but the staff was amazing. Thank you for the best dental service!

This was the first time I went to see this Specialist for my crowning and filing. The Dr. did a phenomenal job and did it to perfection. The office staff were more cooperative and gentle in providing the required support services. Overall I would rave about this facility to all my close friends and family.

Dr. Shawn and Joelle are both amazing. My appointment with Dr. Shawn was quick, and my fillings were completed painlessly. I'm glad I found a dentist I can trust.

I’ve had bad dental experiences in the past and did not want to go to the dentist. I broke a tooth so had no choice. My daughter in law and grandson had been to the Smile Spa and had a great experience so I called them for an appointment. I decided to do full mouth restoration to address all at one time. I had surgery 2 weeks ago. Extracted 3 teeth, 6 implants, sinus lift and bone graft. Got my stitches out today. A couple of days of discomfort was all!! Dr. Nguyen is amazing! Luz, his assistant made me feel comfortable. Looking forward to next steps with Dr.Joelle Elahad! All staff is wonderful! Highly recommend!!

I have had the most wonderful dental experience of my life. I have been fortunate to have come across The Smile Spa during my researching dental implants. When I arrived I was greeted by two remarkable women receptionists. They were as friendly, personable and knowledgeable as I could have asked for. They answered all my questions and made me comfortable which for me is extremely difficult because I am deathly afraid of dentists,because of some bad experiences I’ve had in the past.I was ushered into an examine room where I was greeted by a lab assistant who took x-rays with a handheld devise I was more more comfortable with rather than the large machines I’ve always been frightened of because of my fear of radiation. After the x-rays were completed four medically clad people into the room. They were all very personable and friendly and again made me at ease.Dr. Sean did everything necessary to prepare the implant explaining every detail to me as he evaluated and prepared me for the implant after having previously placed a temporary device onto my tooth. Everything was completed with a half hour and I made an appointment for two week to have the implant done. Each of these people were extremely knowledgeable, comforting and pleasant.The cost of my services and the implant was very reasonable after I had done the cost research. I received services from soup to nuts and couldn’t have been Moore pleased. To make this even better the offices were state of the art, beautiful and warming. Thanks Dr. Sean, Dr. Elehad and staff for this marvelous experience.I wrote the above after I had one of those brand meeting and First getting my preparation for an implant, Yesterday I went into finally get my implant placed. I was anxious, thinking it could be painful even thinking about the possibility of going under anesthesia. However, I always told it wouldn’t be any pain. Just a little pressure and I shouldn’t waste my money on anesthesia. So I would reluctantly, if our doctor Shawn Nguyen to do the procedure after he explained it all to me. He had his sister explained everything as they were doing the procedure me and they can be confident that it was going to be very simple process for within 20 minutes. The implant is placed and tested for comfort and compatibility with the rest of my teeth. Everything was perfect, including my bite and the feeling of having the implant was certainly nice after having almost 2 years to have completed not the cost of anything they did, but because I was sick for all that time it was unable to have Dental workBut it was completed. Dr. Shawn stayed and talk to me for around 20 minutes describing why he and his wife Started their practice and have continued it all this time. They are exceptionally warm, brilliant, and among other things have done things for their community as well as internationally through the Mercy Ship.I am proud that these wonderful doctors decided to open their practice in our community and that they have done more than enough to make their mark in the dental world. After everything was done, I was greeted by one of the most enjoyable receptionist who expresse her concerns about my two-year illness, and how thrilled they were, I was finally well enough to complete the procedure and also that I was feeling so well.Steven Eichberg, Esquire
