A dental emergency is any situation where you’re in pain, suffering from embarrassment, or have a visibly broken or infected tooth. Not all dental emergencies are painful. If you’re unable to eat or go about your normal daily activities, you need to see an emergency dentist.

The best thing to do for a toothache is to rinse with warm salt water and take Motrin (ibuprofen) as directed to manage swelling and discomfort. Absolutely not. Here at The Smile Spa, we will never charge our patients extra for emergency treatment. We are here to help you get the treatment you need at regular costs.

Immediately locate your tooth and store it in a sealed container, with milk or contact solution covering the entire surface. If the tooth is completely knocked out, be sure not to touch the root. You can gently rinse away any visible debris as long as you do not touch or scrub the root surfaces. Completely knocked-out teeth can also be placed back into the socket in some cases. If you reinsert a tooth, be sure to apply firm pressure to the area until you make it to our office.
